Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Contracts Manager for the Western Cape. The Contracts Manager will oversee the contractual aspects of civil engineering projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, mitigating risks, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of contract law, and experience in civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities: Contract Preparation and Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and agreements. Ensure all contracts comply with industry regulations and company policies. Maintain a comprehensive contract management system. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in contract terms and conditions. Develop strategies to mitigate contractual risks. Ensure insurance and bonding requirements are met. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all contractual documents are accurate and up-to-date. Maintain records of all contract correspondence, amendments, and variations. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for contractual issues. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, legal advisors, and project teams. Provide guidance and advice on contract-related matters. Financial Management: Monitor contract budgets and expenditures. Prepare and analyse financial reports related to contracts. Manage claims and disputes resolution processes. Project Support: Assist in project planning and scheduling activities. Support procurement processes, including evaluating bids and proposals. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on contractual matters. Qualifications: BSc / BTech degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification in contract management. Minimum of 5-9 years of experience in contract management within the civil engineering or construction industry. Thorough understanding of contract law and industry standards. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. Apply Now
