An Automotive Dealership is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused COSTING CLERK with dual responsibilities as a SERVICE TEAM LEADER to join their team in Newcastle, Northern KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately costing repair orders, managing service team operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service. A strong background in automotive and dealership environments is essential, along with experience in costing and using Autoline or similar dealership software.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Costing Clerk Duties:

  • Accurately cost repair orders, ensuring all parts, labor, and additional expenses are properly accounted for.
  • Verify the accuracy of all repair orders and associated documentation.
  • Work closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure all costs are captured and correctly billed.
  • Manage warranty claims and ensure all documentation is complete and submitted timely.
  • Utilize Autoline or similar dealership software for costing and tracking purposes.

2. Service Team Leader Duties:

  • Lead and supervise the service team to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate service appointments, ensuring optimal workflow and resource allocation.
  • Monitor the progress of service jobs and provide updates to customers as needed.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain service processes and standards to improve efficiency and customer service.

3. Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing accurate information regarding service options, timelines, and costs.
  • Ensure a positive service experience by maintaining clear and professional communication with customers.

4. Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all costing activities, including repair orders, warranty claims, and customer interactions.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with company policies and procedures.

5. Sales and Upselling:

  • Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and products to enhance vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customers with detailed explanations of recommended services and associated benefits.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a Costing Clerk in an automotive dealership environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle maintenance, and repair processes.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role is advantageous.
  • Computer literate: Experience with Autoline or similar dealership software is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Newcastle residency required.
