Reference: ITE006139-SAN-1 Our client, a leading financial institution, is recruiting for a strong and experienced DevOps Engineer to be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the company's infrastructure, from design through the development process and into production. DevOps Engineer Cape Town, Hybrid Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Requirements: Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or related roles. Experience in the fintech or payments industry. Proficient with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. Experienced with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools, including GitLab CI and Jenkins. Experienced with cloud platforms, especially AWS (preferred), but also GCP and Azure. Knowledgeable in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog. Familiar with event-driven technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and SNS. Proficient in scripting languages like Python and Bash. Understanding of network and security principles, with knowledge of PCI, ISO27001, and SOC2 being advantageous. Familiar with Agile and DevOps methodologies. KPA's: Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD. Oversee AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability. Implement observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, and alerting. Automate repetitive tasks to enhance system reliability and reduce toil. Collaborate with development teams to integrate and optimize applications. Participate in on-call rotations for ad-hoc tasks. Document processes and best practices for infrastructure and deployment. Improve the efficiency and reliability of the development pipeline. Promote a culture of automation and continuous improvement. Enhance system performance and scalability by applying best practices. Reduce lead time for changes and mean time to recovery.
