Are you interested in a Finance and Admin Manager career in Woolworths Supply Chain and Logistics? Main Purpose To provide the business area with timeous, valid, accurate and complete operational and financial information in support of supply chain excellence. Key Responsibilities Reporting of valid, accurate and complete weekly/monthly financial flash in line with the business unit capacity and operational plans Assist the General Manager to compile and manage the budget of the business unit Ensure that all expense and income categories are managed and controlled to meet flexed budget parameters and ensure prior approval of overspend Compile the monthly forecast for the business unit inclusive of detailed action plans to mitigate any targets on income and expense ratios forecasts Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations timeously with no long outstanding reconciling items Implement, manage, and report on the business unit financial scorecard on a weekly basis Manage risk in the business unit / Distribution Centre (DC) via Controlled Self-Assessment Manage the financial aspects of contracts to meet budget parameters Ensure that the return on investment and return on assets are maximized – e.g., forklifts etc Build relationships with external & internal stakeholders through appropriate leadership, in line with corporate governance, to improve operational efficiencies and manage SLA Integrate with all stakeholders (Foods Annual Total Cost to Company or Annual TCOE Cost of Employment, Operations managers, Transport, Equipment, Finance, Suppliers, Head Office e.g., Development etc.) to influence, agree and deliver integrated plans and ensure operational efficiencies & continuous improvement Build, develop and entrench a high-performance culture within the Finance and Admin team by providing leadership, guidance, support, and hands-on coaching to the team Implement Financial controls Control the capex spend for the business area against budget and compile business cases in line with requirements for submission to investment committee where capex is required for strategic investment Effectively use invocoms to ensure the delivery of team goals through relevant scorecards as per the strategy Demonstrate effective leadership aligned to the Woolworths Values to ensure delivery of the Supply Chain Strategy Deliver operational efficiencies through continuous improvement Key Competencies Systemic understanding of key business linkages Detailed understanding of the processes and systems within supply chain operations Able to implement and monitor Supply Chain and Logistics operations processes Advanced Computer literacy (Relevant computer applications) Ability to scrutinise written financial documentation, identify errors and problem areas and recommend solutions Knowledge of how to scrutinize written and financial documentation, identify mistakes and problem areas and recommended solutions An ability to manage financial reconciliations An understanding of the revenue versus cost relationship and ability to translate this into a flexible budget Knowledge of relevant legislation Ability to quickly develop a knowledge and understanding of suppliers, stores and service provider business and demonstrates a passion for customer delivery Demonstrates an understanding of the impact of own role on service delivery to internal and external Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail Able to work flexible hours in line with the business requirements What theoretical knowledge (e.g., degree / diploma) does the job require? B. Com Accounting Degree with 5 - 8yrs experience in finance at appropriate level CIMA / CA (SA) Qualification will be advantageous Experience in a Supply Chain / Manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of cost control Knowledge of how to manage financial reconciliations Understand - revenue and cost relationships and is able to translate this into flexible budgets What experience (e.g., previous exposure) does the job require? Up to 5-year relevant working experience as Finance and Administration Manager within a similar finance environment.
