Financial Manager - Cape Town City Centre

Duties:
  • Providing leadership and overseeing financial accounting, driving business growth and monitoring business performance
  • Finance governance and monitoring
  • Driving continuous improvement in the finance function
  • Financial reporting: providing insight into the business and key drivers, through complete and accurate analysis on monthly reporting to assist with decision making
  • Presenting monthly and quarterly reviews of management accounts to group/executives
  • Driving efficient month end finalization through implementation of SOPs
  • Understanding, managing and coordinating cost saving initiatives
  • Strictly complying with group reporting timelines and ensuring financial compliance of the business meets group standards
  • Working capital management: Debtor management, supplier relationship with key suppliers is maintained and timely payments and stock management
  • Understanding capex requirements of the business, asset utilization, capex reporting and EVA modelling
  • Yearly financial audits and tax and deferred tax calculations
  • Driving and managing the preparation of the budgets, forecasts including timely submission to group
  • Continuous engagement with finance staff, training, identification of areas of improvement and management of the finance team, to ensure optimal performance are maintained

Job Experience & Skills Required:
  • Relevant tertiary education (BCom)
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (Advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with at least 2 years experience in a finance leadership role
  • Previous logistics industry experience will be essential
