Ensure manufacturing machinery and facilities are maintained by conducting planned maintenance, carry out repairs on breakdowns and undertaking general building maintenance. Carry out start-up and shut-down checks and reporting to the foreman on any non conformances conducting maintenance, repairs and modifications on specialised production equipment such as gas lines, lifting equipment, gas burners, compressors etc liaising with shift foreman to determine level of urgency and repair timing schedules creating and submitting job cards for non-planned breakdowns for approval carrying out required repairs according to schedule of job cards providing input on annual shutdown and planned maintenance be available for annual maintenance shut down carrying out maintenance as per the planned maintenance schedule ensuring daily job card capturing for both breakdowns and/or planned maintenance determining route causes of failures and action plans to rectify problems submitting spares request for work undertaken to Foreman to action Ensuring that 5S and housekeeping rules are adhered to at all times providing technical input for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs providing support during after hours shifts or on weekends in-house repairs to tooling as and when required conducing physical checks and tagging of equipment and machinery identifying air leaks and repairing them critical spares and inventory control liaising with suppliers for prices and quotes on day to day required equipment and spares Ensuring that existing spares meet current production and maintenance requirements and advising of redundant items. Project support Providing input into critical spares stock list by informing the maintenance foreman of changes and specs fabricating and installing equipment and machinery for ad-hoc plant improvement projects Trade tested Fitter and Turner at least 5 years experience in a manufacturing or related environment ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organisation basic computer
