Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification Stock Control experience in a Private Healthcare setting (Hospital and Retail Pharmacy) – minimum 2 years using SAP Intermediate computer literacy Knowledge and experience of SAP and price file maintenance, as well as various support services including Iquest, Medikredt, Surgicom and Compharm The main purpose of this position: The Hospital stock Controller is responsible for maintaining stock levels and stock control in all stock locations within the hospital The incumbent will be required to extract data from SAP, analyse and produce required stock reports Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain effective communication with all staff in the various stock locations including theatre Ensure staff that are handling stock are adequately trained and experienced on the relevant SOPs/policies Ensure that each storage location is maintained with stock levels that are determined by usage, this must be updated quarterly (revise MRP) Engage regularly with Unit Mangers and/or Billing Auditors to identify any gaps in stock movement, determine and follow up on the action plan to close off these gaps Determine the routine stock ordering days for consumable stock and ensure adherence to these Address challenges with inappropriate use directly to the Unit Manager (cost impact) Measure and evaluate stock activity levels for re-ordering purposes and to maintain stock at agreed value targets (stock days) Co-ordinate expiry dates checks regularly throughout the hospital and ensure the timeous return to suppliers and/or write off of stock Eliminate slow moving and redundant stock by means of constant communication with doctors, nursing staff, pharmacy and other stock controllers in the group Conduct cyclical counts for inventory purposes Prepare for stock take, data capturing and finalisation of stock take Take a lead role in the quarterly stock takes, in-service training regarding the policy and ensure adherence to the policy Analyse SAP data to provide PM with reports to track usage, purchases, negative stock margins etc.
