Microchem Specialized Lab Services is seeking to recruit a HR Assistant to be based at our head office in Stikland Industrial, Bellville. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm, no weekends, no public holidays. All training will be provided. A clear criminal record with 1 year work experience in a similar environment and a relevant Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources or similar. Fluentency in English, and additional South African languages would be beneficial. Assisting the Financial Manager with Human Resources: administartion; payroll; recruitment and selection, and training and development procedures: Employee Relations: Accurate and confidential record keeping and staff files maintenance. Psiber is updated with all relevant information Ensure all SOPs and Job Descriptions are updated Manage the employee exit process. Give weekly updates on HR Conduct telephone screening of candidates Ask director/FM if we are going to do anything for special events. Manage the events and planning thereof Recruitment Process: Receive CVs from Microchem Careers portal, external platforms and walk-in job seekers. Placing advertisements on Pnet/Indeed/LinkedIn/internally when the need arises. Internal recruitment Screen all CV's received from all channels for an advertised vacancy. Regret unsuitable applicants Update the HR reporting database. Conduct telephone screening of candidates Maintain strict confidentiality with all documentation received and disciplinary hearings. Arrange interviews for short-listed candidates. Participate in interviews Interrogate references of interviewed candidates Prepare contract of employment for successful candidates Company induction of new staff. Keep a checklist of what new employees require and ensure they receive all relevant clothing/ equipment/ computer/ vehicles/ Stationary/ etc. Document assets issued on Psiber. Performance Management Manage staff performance appraisal and goals setting process. Summarize quarterly performance appraisals timely and keep the summary updated. Obtain and file all warnings, ensuring correct type of warning issued and signed by relevant parties. Payroll Assistance: Send out weekly timesheets and perform leave reconciliation weekly. Perform overtime reconciliation and processing overtime. Assist with monthly payroll. Ensuring completeness of new employee files in a timely manner. Load new employees onto Psiber accurately and timely. Ensuring new employees are added to time and attendance on the first day of employment. Training: Assist with Internal training of staff on Stanard operating procedures and company policies. Performing a gap analysis on all employees. Manage staff development. Operation function: Assist with the BEE audit Assist FM with Employment Equity duties and committee. Assist FM with pay scaling yearly and when required. Optimizing efficiency and systems. Administrative Tasks: Take minutes during meetings Ad-hoc: Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by management from time to time. Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources. 1 year work experience in a similar environment. Clear criminal record.
