Hydrogeologist - South Africa
Job Description:
Job Requirements:
- Lead hydrogeological conceptualization projects (Conceptual model development, ground water flow, head counting, source pathway-receptor understanding , surface water - ground water interaction)
- Conduct hydrogeological technical assessments using 2D and 3D numerical flow and contaminant transport modelling skills
- Manage ongoing work from existing clients, develop relationships with new clients
- Coordinate staff and subcontractors, liaise with regulators, client contacts and control budgets and invoicing
- Provide solutions from initial conversation to proposal to development and successful completion
- Plan, write and review technical reports
- Prepare environmental management plans, monitoring plans and consent applications
- Work with senior scientist and engineers across the business on all the above
- Conduct and oversee fieldworks
Job Requirements:
- A Geo-science or Engineering bachelors degree, and ideally a post graduate or Masters degree from a well-recognised university in geoscience-related field, preferably with a specialisation/ focus in hydrogeology
- 7 years of experience
- Competency in groundwater resource assessment and management and in GIS, databasing, GoldSim, Leapfrog and other industry related software
- Competency in 2D and 3D numerical flow and contaminant transport modelling such as SEEPW, MODFLOEW, FEEFLOW
