Internal Sales Representative - Milnerton

Minimum requirements
  • Matric
  • Practical industry experience (minimum 5 Years)
  • Software Knowledge of Pastel, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
KPIs
Sales:
Sourcing new sales opportunities, following up on quotes.
Prioritize and manage time effectively.
Closing sales and achieving monthly targets.

Customer Service:
Quotation turnaround time.
Handling customer complaints.

Operations:
Convey the customers feedback to operations.
Delivery of Quality Products, on time and on spec.

Stock:
Ordering of stock when needed.
Managing accounts/Debtors: Debtors management (COD accounts).

Duties
Sales:
Establish and maintain good relationships with new as well as existing customers.
Identify customer needs and keep them well informed on new products and services.
Handle all transactions personally and ensure the information is clearly communicated between the company and the client. To promote upselling by identifying other needs the clients may have.
Collaborate with other companies through buy-outs ensuring additional income generated for the company with minimum effort.
Follow up on leads and quotes.
Assist with picking up stock to be delivered when needed.

Marketing:
Identify and communicate with potential new clients as well as identify new developments where the company could get involved.
Upload social media with the content of completed projects as well as new products, services, and promotions.
Identify and follow up with new clients through comments on their social media posts and workmanship.
Communicate stock availability to clients.

Finance:
Ensure all cash sales are paid in full before collection/delivery.
Handle all incoming cash from clients and distribute it to the relevant financial department.
Call and follow up on any accounts that are outstanding. (Thus, being accountable should the client not pay.)

Sales Invoicing:
Ensure credit accounts are all settled at month-end (liaise with the accounts department).
Make sure the complete details of each customer reflect on all EFT payments.
Price Increases Communicate and support.

Communication:
Effective Communication with the production manager on all invoices and establish lead times.
Follow up on all quotes that were done and get commitments from clients.
To assist walk-in clients with related queries and offer advice as a professional.
Strategize with the branch manager and create new opportunities for the sales team.
Communicate well during times of problem-solving.
Participate in setting up a communication strategy for the target market with the marketing agency.
Build a strong relationship with suppliers.

Sales Targets:
Participate in Setting realistic Sales Targets.
Aspire to achieve the monthly Sales targets and GPs.
Maintain and expand the sales database.
Utilize and update the sales database.

Stock purchases:
Communicate with other branches or Suppliers on stock availability before processing and ordering.
Make sure that all buy-out stock is ordered and pricing is correct.
Liaise with the branch manager on discount pricing and ordering of stock from the correct supplier.
Timeous Stock Ordering.

Stock takes:
Perform accurate stock counts.
Making sure stock sheets are accurate and clear to read.
Identify and make sure the correct product is written down on the stock sheet.
Making sure that the stock is correctly packed in their places before stock take.

Product Knowledge:
Everything relevant to the cutting and edging of boards.
Gain product knowledge of the different products and market-related pricing.

Health and Safety:
Report any Health and Safety issues to your superior.
Follow all Health and Safety procedures.

General:
  • Be neat on yourself and your workstation.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
  • Self-motivated.
  • The correct dress code / PPE must be worn at all times.
  • Clocking in & out on the workflow program.
  • Identify the different Boards/woods stipulated on the cutting list.
  • Ensure that there is enough board/wood ordered for the specific jobs cutting to be completed.
  • Ensure that clients quotes are submitted accurately in accordance with the cutting list.
  • Make sure that all cutting is correct and as per the cutting list.
  • Once cutting is completed, ensure items are wrapped and delivered on time.
  • Make sure that all boards are marked correctly with the correct job name and panel size.
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met in a timeous fashion.
  • Work with the team to reach project goals.
  • Report to Project Manager/ Factory Foreman/ CEO & draughtsman.
This is a full-time position, however, the first 3 months will serve as a probation period. Should the probation be successful you will be issued with a permanent employment contract.
You are expected to work 46 straight hours per week.
Payable Overtime can be requested.

Working hours:
Mon-Thu: 07:30 to 17:30
Fri: 07:30 to 14:00
Every 2nd Saturday: 08:00 to 12:00

Commission:
Cut and Edge sales: Amounts R250000 (ex Vat) revenue for the month earn 2.5% commission
Spray sales: Amounts R250000 (ex Vat) revenue for the month earn 10% commission
