Join my client's team as a Junior Accountant and take on a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of their organisation. This role is based in Wadeville, Johannesburg East. Key Responsibilities: Full-Spectrum Accounting : Manage accounting functions up to trial balance, including handling debtors, creditors, general ledger, and cashbook activities. Financial Record Keeping : Ensure accurate and complete financial records are maintained to uphold the integrity of our financial data. Gross Profit (GP) Analysis : Perform GP analysis with an understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) and standard costing. Operational Expenditure Validation : Validate operating expenses and implement cost-saving measures to optimize financial efficiency. Stock Control : Conduct monthly investigations into stock variances and implement corrective actions as needed. Purchase Order Management : Maintain the open purchase order list, including provisions and accruals. Balance Sheet Maintenance : Manage balance sheet items and ensure external verification of balances related to debtors, creditors, and loans. Hire Purchase Agreements : Oversee and maintain hire purchase agreements. Asset Register Maintenance : Maintain the asset register and calculate monthly depreciation for accurate asset accounting. Capex Procedure Compliance : Ensure adherence to capital expenditure (capex) procedures and correct asset accounting. Wear and Tear Schedule : Maintain the wear and tear schedule for tax purposes to ensure compliance. Statutory Compliance : Handle submission of statutory returns and ensure timely payments to comply with regulatory requirements. Payment Pack Preparation : Prepare and review payment packs to support efficient financial operations. VAT Reconciliation : Reconcile VAT accounts, including input, output, and control accounts, and manage VAT audits and document submissions. Financial Process Improvement : Work with the finance manager to implement and improve financial processes and internal controls. Cash Flow Planning : Prepare and plan for cash flow to support the organization's financial health. Audit and Budget Preparation : Assist in preparing information for yearly audits and budgeting processes. Data Analysis Support : Assist the financial manager with analyzing data and identifying key drivers for informed decision-making. Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with stakeholders to provide essential financial information to support strategic decisions. Bank Beneficiaries : Prepare bank beneficiaries for loading onto the bank system, ensuring accurate financial transactions. Qualifications and Skills required: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles (non-negotiable). 2 years post articles experience. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.
