Position Overview:
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in our finance department, supporting our daily accounting operations. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of creditors' invoices, and debit notes.
- Performing account reconciliations.
- Allocate supplier receipts.
- Send remittance advice.
- Maintaining accounts payables files and records.
- Ensure creditors contracts are filed.
- Ensure creditors Masterfile database is up to date.
- Ensure invoice meet the SARS tax validation requirements.
- Assisting in expense analysis.
- Maintain accounts payable age analysis.
- Prepare payment files/statements.
- Attend and resolve creditors queries.
- Provide support to business units.
- Weekly creditors age analysis report.
- Maintain relationships with creditors.
- Month end file.
- Capturing bank transactions..
- Allocating bank transactions to customer, supplier, and General ledger account
- Daily reconciliation of transactions.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts to Cashbook Module.
- Filing bank statements and reconciliations.
- Intercompany customer invoices..
- Reconcile intercompany loan accounts.
- Process journals.
- Fixed asset register/management
- Assisting in audit packs.
- Support finance manager as required and assigned.
- Support senior accountants.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Ensure accounting records are up to date and accurate.
- Ad hoc duties based on business needs.
- Protect the organizations value by keeping information confidential.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
