Our client is looking to employ a self-motivated, problem-solving, friendly Junior Assistant to assist with managing one of their units. Responsibilities: (include but not limited to) Be the contact/liaison for the unit Assist with ensuring quality of food preparation, presentation and that service are up to standard Assist with overseeing the housekeeping services Assist with maintaining high standards of Hygiene & Safety Assist with staff supervision Assist with leading, motivating, training, and developing a team Assist with and be able to run a shift and take responsibility in the absence of the Catering Manager Taking lead and ownership of all administration tasks Process paperwork and compile & understand weekly and monthly reports Relationship building with the client and customers daily (essential) Stay abreast of the latest food trends and best practices Weekly and monthly stock take, stock issues and stock ordering (overall stock management) and quality control Be able to compile/cost a function menu Always keeps the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality Experience: Minimum 3 years management or supervision experience Previous experience within a Hospitality or Hospital environment Previous experience in a café/bistro/coffee shop environment Must be able to work independently Basic Financial knowledge Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent level of competence Skills: Computer literate – Microsoft office (ability to grasp new software should it be necessary) Able to learn quickly and adapt to new processes Strong judgement and problem-solving skills Excellent people skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Verbal and written) Strong organizational skill Attention to detail Excellent administrative skills Strong time management Able to work under pressure and meet all deadlines Work well in a team environment and with upper management Requirements: Valid drivers' license and reliable transportation South African citizen Be able to work Monday to Friday 07h00 to 16h00 Willing to work shifts when necessary
