We are seeking a skilled and experienced Company Attorney to join our team and oversee all legal aspects of our business operations. The Company Attorney will be responsible for managing the company's legal affairs, including human resources-related legal matters, equity plans, contract verification, and general legal issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with various departments within the company. Human Resources: • Provide legal counsel on HR-related issues, including employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance with employment laws. • Develop, implement, and manage equity plans and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. • Review and update employee handbooks, contracts, and policies to reflect current legal standards and best practices. • Address and resolve employee disputes and grievances in collaboration with a labour consultant and operations team. Contract Verification: • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements and client contracts, • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations and align with company policies and objectives. • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks in contractual arrangements. • Maintain organized and accessible records of all executed contracts and agreements. General Legal Affairs: • Provide legal advice and support to senior management and various departments on a broad spectrum of legal matters. • Ensure compliance laws and regulations applicable to the business. • Manage all property matters. • Oversee any litigation or disputes involving the company, coordinating with external legal counsel as necessary. • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise the company on necessary actions to ensure compliance. • Conduct legal research and stay updated on best practices and legal developments that could impact the company. • BA Law or B Proc degree from an accredited law school. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably with a focus on human resources and contract law. • Strong understanding of employment law, equity compensation, and contract negotiation. • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • High ethical standards and professional integrity. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Negotiable salary and performance-based bonuses. • Comprehensive medical aid and provident fund. • Professional development opportunities. • Friendly and supportive work environment.
