Introduction Our client is seeking a motivated SAP Basis Junior Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in the administration, maintenance, and support of their SAP systems. Working closely with senior consultants, this role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the SAP environment. Roles and Responsibilities System Administration Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates as needed. Perform system copies, refreshes, and client copies as part of system maintenance activities. Administer the SAP database to maximize system performance and availability. Security Ensure compliance with security policies and standards. Implement necessary security measures to protect SAP systems. System Upgrades and Maintenance Assist in planning and executing SAP system upgrades, service pack installations, and enhancement pack upgrades. Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule downtime and minimize impact on business operations during maintenance activities. Backup and Recovery Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to verify their effectiveness. Performance Tuning Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Work with senior consultants to implement performance tuning measures and improve system responsiveness. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement. Experience Minimum of 3 years SAP Basis experience across multiple SAP components. Experience with SAP Basis and NetWeaver Administration; PI/PO experience is advantageous. Experience with Windows-SQL, SLES-HANA, Sybase, and MAXDB. Proficient in SAP Backup and Recovery, SAP Basis Monitoring, SAP Patch Management, Router Configuration, SAP Kernel Administration, and SAP HANA & S/4HANA. Proficient in ITIL processes, especially Incident, Service Request, and Problem Management. Experience in disaster recovery management and planning and/or business continuity planning. Knowledge of MS SQL Server, Oracle, SAP ASE, DB2, and SAP HANA. Familiarity with SAP ERP, BI, CRM, PI, Solution Manager, SCM, SMP, BPC, and Fiori. Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008-2022, Linux, Unix (including virtualization solutions: VMWare, Hyper-V). Understanding of complex IT environments (technical, security, business). Experience with AWS and cloud-based technologies, platforms, and services. Knowledge of security and backup administration. Understanding of IT Service Management principles and frameworks (ITIL 3). Familiarity with technology development life cycle methodologies. Knowledge of retail industry models is advantageous. Competencies Basic understanding of SAP Basis concepts and administration tasks. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Proficiency in English, both written and oral. Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with Google Suite. Personal resilience, energy, and drive. Customer orientation. Innovative and analytical mindset. Qualifications SAP Basis Technical certifications (required). IT-related degree (advantageous).
