Junior IT Network and Support Engineer - Port Elizabeth
The Junior IT Network & Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, support, and optimisation of our clients' IT networks. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, supporting end-users, and working closely with Senior Engineers to implement network solutions
Main Duties/Key Results Areas:
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Maintain hardware and software in the organisation. Proficient Windows 10-11/Office 365
Installation and configuration.
Troubleshoot network issues & Voip issues
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network functionality.
Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues, including connectivity and access problems.
Assist in the setup and maintenance of network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Support the implementation of network upgrades and enhancements.
Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
Collaborate with Senior Engineers to design and implement network solutions for clients.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure best practices are followed.
All other tasks and related duties as expected from the employer from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors Degree or relevant courses/training completed in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding of network concepts, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support.
Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Certification in networking (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) is advantageous.
