JR Attorneys Inc. is a boutique law firm based in Southdowns, Centurion, looking for an BBBEE LLB graduate or a person who is studying towards law and/or in the process of completing their law qualification [Law Degree/ Law Diploma/ Paralegal] and has the aptitude and a passion for law. This is an 12-month contract - entry level role, and you will be expected from time to time travel to Courts, Sheriffs, Advocates chambers, etc. The person should have a drivers license and own reliable vehicle. The position requires high energy levels. To assist the attorneys with litigation work, including opening of files, copies, indexing and pagination of court files and documents. This may further include: finalising of notices, affidavits and pleadings for signature arranging for and attending to signing of documents Preparation of basic forms for filing with the Registrar Filing in files and on the firm's billing and cloud system as well as maintaining court, counsel and own records Photocopying of various documents and binding in files Scanning of documents to dispatch with e-mail messages Carry out duties as given by Attorneys and Legal Secretaries You will be expected from time to time travel to Courts, Sheriffs, Advocates chambers, Clients, etc to deliver or collect documents To attend to courts, to sort out queries, serve and file, and do deliveries adequately Attend to administration in terms of billing of work done for the day Qualification/s . Matric . Law Degree / Law Diploma / Paralegal Skills and knowledge . Attention to detail and organizational skills . Eagerness to learn and develop . High level of initiative and being pro-active in the practice . Ability to prioritize and deal with urgent matters promptly and efficiently . Ability to work well under pressure, to use initiative and meet tight deadlines . Computer literate in MS Office Suite . Own reliable vehicle and valid drivers license . Non-smoker . Knowledge of Law74 billing system, CourtOnline and Caselines is not essential but is a huge advantage . Well spoken in english language language is essential and excellent communication skills .
