Unique Personnel boasts over 50 years (established in 1970) of personnel and staffing experience, so it's not surprising that even though our main focus has been providing on South African Staffing Solutions, we now recruit internationally for over 5000 clients Primary objective of the role The Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing plant maintenance, encompassing both preventative and corrective measures, to ensure reliability and optimal functionality of machinery and equipment. Leading a team of two fitters, the Asset Manager will manage a diverse range of machines, including CNC lathes, CNC multi-tasking machines, CNC boring mills, cylindrical grinding, internal grinding, vertical boring mills, welding, cutting, lathes, horizontal boring mills, milling, fettling, threading, compressors, generators, lifting equipment, and facility equipment. Duties & responsibilities Primary Duties Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment. Identify critical machines required for rehabilitation. Respond promptly to corrective maintenance needs, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaborate with the Factory Manager and Assembly Manager to plan maintenance activities in alignment with production schedules. Work with and manage sub-contractors where required Team Management: Lead a team of two fitters, providing guidance and support for efficient plant maintenance. Coordinate work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure optimal coverage. Equipment Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of a wide range of machinery, including CNC lathes, CNC multi-tasking machines, CNC boring mills, grinding equipment, welding tools, compressors, generators, lifting equipment, and facility machinery Hydraulics, Electrics, Electronics, and Mechanics: Apply in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, electronics, and mechanics in troubleshooting and maintaining machinery. Conduct regular training sessions for the maintenance team to enhance their skills in these areas Equipment Efficiency: Identify opportunities for improving equipment efficiency and reliability. Propose and implement solutions to streamline maintenance processes and reduce downtime Record Keeping Keep record of plant maintenance on the IMS Equipment module. Use the mySHEQ schedules to assist with preventative maintenance planning Keep equipment manuals and drawings in good condition to ensure they are controlled and remain in a high quality condition. Digitise maintenance records and resources where possible. Qualifications & Skills Matric or NQF equivalent Qualified Mill Wright 10 years' Machine tool Maintenance experience Conversant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, GCC preferable Strong computer literacy skills Good organisational and record keeping abilityISO 9001 implementation and reporting experience integrating into My SHEQ.
