Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader Location: Durban Description: RPO Recruitment is currently representing a well-established manufacturing company in their search for a Maintenance Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the company. Primary Responsibilities: Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient operation of production equipment and facilities. Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as needed. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement. Train and develop team members to enhance technical skills and performance. Collaborate with other departments to address production issues and implement process improvements. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or vocational training preferred - Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or related field - Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred - Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment maintenance, and repair techniques - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Physical Requirements: Mechanical engineer qualification and must have a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering role/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, B Techs are not a prerequisite. High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a maintenance technician or supervisor. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. Experience with preventive maintenance programs is preferred.
