This position offers the exciting opportunity for a researcher whose primary focus will be to conduct marine research relating to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) as well as Sustainability and Circularity. Mertech Marine specialises in the dismantling and recycling of redundant submarine telecommunication cables and are committed to sustainable recycling. The aim of the business is to minimise waste and to process quality by-products. Ensure CEO is kept informed of local and international environmental trends, legislation, policy changes, requirements and events Compilation and management of marine data systems Ensure CEO is kept informed of possible business opportunities and risks Submission of permit applications according to requirements Build and maintain positive relationships with industry role-players and within the marine community Content creation for Social Media Campaigns and brand exposure The minimum requirements are a Postgraduate Diploma related to Maritime Studies, ESG, Sustainability or Circularity. The main competencies are as follows: Reseach skills Proficient communication skills Project management skills Ability to consolidate information into Executive summaries Co-ordination skills General interest and basic understanding of maritime matters
