Repairs and Maintenance:

Ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
Conduct regular equipment inspections to identify and address deviations proactively to prevent breakdowns and quality issues.
Respond promptly and cost-effectively to all equipment breakdowns.
Adhere to the maintenance execution process, ensuring work orders are complete and accurate.
Submit all completed work orders and documentation to the Maintenance Manager for review and sign-off.
Apply a first time-right approach and follow proper fault-finding procedures, documenting them correctly.
Maintain plant availability at or above 95%.
Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings; replace filters and perform other maintenance tasks according to checklists.
Comply with food safety standards; experience in the FMCG sector is advantageous.
Assemble, install, and repair pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam, air, and water lines.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements within the department.
Diagnose, correct, and improve mechanical issues on plant machinery.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Train and supervise workers in installing and maintaining mechanical equipment and components.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Maintain proper housekeeping standards at all times.

Health and Safety:

Familiarize yourself with and follow all safety rules and procedures.
Understand all COSHH regulations and the Pesticide Manual; use only company-supplied chemicals and cleaning materials as instructed, and utilize protective clothing and equipment.
Secure all cleaning materials and equipment issued to you.
Ensure all allocated machinery is kept in safe working order.
Take care of your own health and safety and that of your colleagues and customers.
Understand the company fire drill procedures and direct guests to the nearest fire exits and meeting points.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required to meet the business needs.

Education and Qualifications:

Must have a Grade 12 Senior Certificate or N3 from South Africa
South Africans will be given preference
Must have a Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and Turner.
Must have mechanical fitting experience
Must have turning experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical experience.
Experience with baking machinery, packing machinery, blowers, compressors, and conveying systems is highly advantageous.
Valid Code 8 driver's license with a willingness to work overtime, shifts, and standby duties.
