To manage and oversee the mechanical maintenance activities during assigned shifts, ensuring that all machinery and equipment in the manufacturing facility are in optimal working condition, thereby minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Supervise the mechanical maintenance team during the shift, ensuring timely and effective response to any machinery issues. Ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely with minimal downtime. Coordinate with the production team to prioritize maintenance activities without hampering production Implement preventive maintenance programs and ensure adherence during the shift Troubleshoot and resolve machinery breakdowns in a timely manner . Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during the shift. Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions Collaborate with other shift managers to ensure consistency in maintenance practices across all shifts . Ensure compliance with all safety standards and enforce safety protocols and procedures Required Skills Maintenance Root Cause Analysis Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Manager Educational Qualifications: Mechanical or equivalent engineering qualification . Knowledge a nd Experience: Work experience of plant maintenance or technical management in the food manufacturing industry. Ability to apply Root Cause Failure Analysis 2-3 years' experience in a leadership role Knowledge of plant and food safety requirements Good knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery used in the plant Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, presentation Outlook). Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities R 25 000 to R 50 000 CTC Including Medical Aid and Pension
