Description The objective of this role is to champion best practices in all areas of Technical Training, encompassing branch apprenticeships/learnerships, ARPL, OEM/product training, and skills programs. This position demands strict compliance with legal, SETA/NAMB, and OEM standards while promoting exceptional customer-oriented services. By implementing and maintaining initiatives aligned with the company's strategic vision, you'll drive the success of the technical training division. Furthermore, you'll be responsible for ensuring the division's profitability, meeting and exceeding established targets. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all training provided aligns with legal requirements, SETA/NAMB standards, OEM guidelines, and the company's objectives, standards, and best practice requirements. Oversee the financial management of training initiatives, ensuring they align with the budget and departmental strategic objectives, meet company policies and set targets, and provide accurate information promptly for invoice preparation. Stay updated with developments in your area of expertise by actively participating in training for branch trainers and staying informed through current journals, books, and magazine articles. Plan, prepare, and deliver training materials and information using various instructional techniques such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures. Negotiate with staff and management representatives to resolve training issues and promote the establishment of new programs. Schedule training sessions and communicate training dates, designated groups, venues, and pre-work requirements. Organize and develop or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual aids. Provide specific training programs to help employees maintain and enhance their job skills. Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities and program effectiveness. Attend meetings and seminars to gather information for training programs or update management on the status of training programs. Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and placement of training program participants. Evaluate training materials prepared by yourself and other instructors, including outlines, texts, and handouts. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not observed. Schedule training sessions, including arranging classes, transportation, and equipment. Ensure that training content is consistently aligned with current SETA/NAMB, OEM, and legal requirements. Monitor, evaluate, and document training activities and program effectiveness; develop alternative training methods if the expected improvements or pass rates are not achieved. Prepare and submit monthly technical training reports in a timely manner. Ensure that the branch achieves and maintains training facility accreditation. In order to be successful in the role you must have the following: Matric, Grade 12, or an equivalent qualification. Trade qualification as a Forklift Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Petrol Mechanic, or Auto Electrician. Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to materials handling and other company equipment brands. A registered Facilitator, Constituent Assessor, or Moderator with a background in technical training is advantageous. Specific knowledge and experience in Electrical (Motive) are highly advantageous. Product-specific qualifications, such as STEP 3, are also beneficial. Code 8 / EB driver's license. Forklift license. Ability to interpret and apply technical information. Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications. Proficiency in identifying and correctly utilizing relevant diagnostic equipment and specialized tools. Capability to perform accurate diagnosis and troubleshooting. Apply Now
