Operational Team Leaders Urgently Required

Gauteng - Westrand and PTA

Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4 (essential)
Diploma in supply chain management/ transportation/ safety management or equivalent at NQF level 5 (essential)
Code B Drivers License (essential) + Own reliable own vehicle
At least 3 years working experience in an operations environment (essential).
One year experience in supervisory capacity (desirable).

Job Output

Manage performance objectives of clusters, monitor and apply corrective measures on performance exceptions in accordance with policies and procedures and escalate to area manager for disciplinary or penalty actions.

2. Co-ordinate, manage and control contracted driver availability & schedules daily and weekly as per cluster requirements.
3. Daily & weekly compliance checks on drivers and assets daily & weekly: Ensure that all drivers have the necessary resources and tools available in working order and that they meet all legal and regulatory conditions to deliver their services to Pingo.
4. Physical support and issuing of assets and issuing of uniforms and campaign related articles and ensuring AODs are completed and submitted to admin team within required timeframe.
5. Maintain daily face to face interaction with independent contractors. Execute on the job training where required. Deal with driver queries promptly and ensure that drivers voice is represented within the business.
6. Obtain driver feedback and feedback to business and actively pursue plans to address any barriers to

performance and/or to improve alignment to the business imperatives.
7. Review and make recommendations to improve driver self-service to empower drivers to obtain the required resources to deliver against the expectations of the business.
8. Daily and weekly engagement with contracted drivers on all facets of the business. Determine if there are any challenges they are experiencing and actively work to resolve driver issues that will inhibit performance, raise caveats and training opportunities.
9. Accurately and timeously report in field incidents & accidents in line with company & departmental policies. Provide all support functions to contracted drivers on incidents and accidents, accurately and timeously complete incident / accident reports for timeous submission to relevant departments.
10. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the cluster through making recommendations and suggestions to the Area Manager.
11. Collate and submit budget inputs as required.

Measures:

Attainment of key results and output can be measured by:
- Excelling / achievement of daily store KPIs in alignment with customer service level agreement (Evidence: Daily store performance as per BI dashboard OTL view).
- Daily contractor headcount management in accordance with weekly roster/shift schedule ((Evidence: Headcount stats (start and end of shift snapshot) as per daily BI dashboard OTL view).
- Daily store & driver compliance audits. (Evidence: daily & weekly completed compliance audit reports comply with number of store visits / audits to be done and required compliance %).
- Accurate recon on assets/uniforms/ campaign or project related articles at all times. (Evidence: timeous submission of AODs to Ops Administrator and/or on time reporting of information - cadence as required).

Weekly evidence of toolbox talks/on the job training sessions held with contractors.
- Number of driver queries dealt within required resolution timeframe. (Evidence: Number of in app chat queries successfully resolved within required timeframe).
- Reporting of all accidents and incidents which occurred within your area of responsibility (within 24hrs) via control team & claims department.
- Accident & incident claims assistance ensuring that claims department is updated regularly, and that open claims and forms are completed and submitted as soon as possible. (Evidence: follow up messages and communication with all stakeholders).
- Give inputs to budget as required.
Stretch goal.
- Assist the area operations manager to improve subcontractor retention rate per store (improvement of contractor retention by +3% over a 6-month cycle).
