Logistics Company based in Germiston is looking for the following vacancy. We service customers nationally and are looking for experienced individuals to fill this vacancy . The Company prefers candidates from the logistics industry . Only AA candidates will be considered. Position Summary: The Operations Supervisor role is essential in ensuring that the operations of the trucks is optimal at all times. This role ensures that the driver key performance indicators are executed to ensure that the company meets its revenue budgets and also continuously plans for the work of the trucks based on customer demands. This role is critical to the company meeting its targets, General Responsibilities: The operations supervisor/manager will ensure that they oversee the truck activities on a daily basis managing the following: The operations Supervisor will be responsible for all SAFETY adherence procedures for the drivers whilst on the road and at customer sites He/she will be responsible for HR requirements of drivers i.e. leave management and time-sheets etc. He/she will be accountable for Overall Revenue in the business. He/she will analyse diesel consumption per truck and make recommendations, He/she will be involved in all KPI meeting with customers He/she will set and assess daily truck key performance indicators (KPI's). He/she will be the Single Point of Contact for all external and internal stakeholders related to truck activities. He/she will liaise with the customer dispatches on truck turn around and loads delivered. He/she will manage truck daily utilization and availability against set targets. He/she will be responsible for optimized route planning. He/she will ideally fit in to replace any Controllers/Planner on leave or unavailable. He /she will ensure that all consumable supplies connected to the operations activities are replenished at all times. Position Interface and Interactions: External Stakeholders: Customers: The Operations Supervisor/Analyst will ensure regular communication with the customers for the following: Safety audits and reports. Send Proof of Deliveries. Communicate any truck breakdowns. Communicate truck Turn Around Times (TATs) at loading and offloading points. Communicate trucks whereabouts. Truck daily plans. Service Providers: The Operations Supervisor/Analyst will ensure regular communication with the service providers on the following: Ordering of a service Completion of Payment to the service providers. Turn Around Time on service delivery Maintenance Responsibilities may include but e not limited to the following: Monitor Service Intervals on Trucks Tyre Management Mechanical workshops or mechanics Diesel providers Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) PPE providers. Tracker. Insurances. Internal Stakeholders: Drivers: The Operations Supervisor will ensure regular communication with the Drivers with regards to the following: Communicate and manage truck key performance indicators to the drivers. Organize training programs for drivers. Manage human resource target i.e. leave, disciplinary processes etc. Managing Directors: The Operations Supervisor will ensure regular communication with the Managing Directors with regards to the following: Safety reports. Communicate any foreseeable or unforeseeable challenges regarding target attainment. Communicate any truck breakdowns or delays. Communicate truck Turn Around Times (TATs) at loading and offloading points, truck utilization and availability. Truck daily plans/weekly plans. Administrative Clerk: The Operations Supervisor will ensure regular communication with the Administrative Clerk on the following: Order placements and receipts Reports finalization (Budgets, Leave reports, Overtime etc.). Invoice conversion and receipted. Resources: Tracking Tools Enterprise Resource Planning Tools Cellphone and data. Computer. Commercial /Supply Chain/Any Technical Diploma/Degree. 5 Years Operations Management experience. Good Interpersonal Skills. Computer Literate. Code 14 drivers licence and Public Drivers Permit, PDP (optional). Code 8 Drivers Licence (compulsory). Market Related Salary Apply Now
