Job Title: Operations/Plant Manager Location: Cape Town, South Africa Industry: Food Manufacturing Summary: RPO Recruitment's client are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations/Plant Manager to oversee their food manufacturing facility in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing operations and management, with a proven track record of managing production processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the highest levels of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations at the food manufacturing plant, including production, quality control, maintenance, and safety. Develop and implement processes and procedures to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. Lead and manage a team of production staff, ensuring adequate training, motivation, and development. Monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions. Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure efficient operation of the plant. Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards. Implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and quality throughout the plant. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or related field. 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the food manufacturing industry. Proven track record of successfully managing an operations team and achieving production targets. Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of employees. Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Must be willing to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
