About the job: The successful applicant will join a small existing team working on home written systems that are mostly used in-house. These systems have been developed and expanded over a period of 24 years. Work will mostly be based in Cape Town airport industrial area, although the occasional work from home day will be permitted, provided you have sufficient reliable power and internet, and a quiet place to work at home. On your CV, please explain your journey as a developer: • When you started • How you learned each programming language (e.g. self-study, tech, university, school) • Which programming languages you've learned & worked with • What kind of sites / apps have you worked on and what was your contribution • Please list which technologies you are proficient in, along with a rating (level of proficiency EXPERIENCE Min 5 years PHP development experience Able and happy to work alone or in a team Office work with occasional working from home Attention to detail Must be prepared to work on legacy systems with no framework as well as codeigniter 3 Experience working with codeigniter 3 and legacy systems would be a big plus. Good understanding and experience working with SQL queries (any database) Ability and happy to work on somebody else's code QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS Either a tertiary qualification with 5 years work experience OR Matric with 7 years work experience in a software development role.
