Reference: CPT003636-Del-1 Our client, a pioneering leader in the renewable energy industry, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Procurement Manager to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in sourcing the best suppliers managing supplier relationships, supporting negotiation of strategic contracts, mitigating risks, and optimizing costs to support the success of wind, solar, and battery storage projects. We are seeking proactive and results-driven Procurement Managers with a passion for renewable energy. REQUIREMENTS Matric, bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or law MS Excel - advanced At least 5 years of experience in Sales, Procurement, Engineering and Construction activities At least 5 years of experience in renewable energy market Strong Contract and Commercial Management Experience Strong Negotiation skills Knowledge of the principle of Power Purchase Agreements, EPC, O&M Contracts Knowledge of the wind, solar, battery storage, and hydro sectors Good communication skills Problem solving skills Negotiation skills and experience Commercial savviness DUTIES Take responsibility for selected procurement processes of contractors (EPC Contractors / BOP Contractors / Equipment Suppliers / etc.) during the Development and Transaction phase. This includes generation of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) with the necessary technical and commercial schedules, evaluation of proposals with Transaction team, Engineering team and Project Management Team, and supporting the negotiation of commercial terms and finalisation of contracts for execution. Live a corporate culture that promotes sustainable ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and fulfils social responsibility objectives and imperatives. Ensuring process compliance to all the internal Policy and Procedures of the Company and transfer them in all EPC Contracts and related subcontracts, including compliance governance principles. Ensuring overall compliance to the Corporate ESMS (Environmental, Social, Management System), IFC Standards and Equator Principles Supporting other departments in matter related to procurement (i.e.: due diligence, etc…) Supplier Management: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effective solutions. Market Research and Analysis: Monitoring market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy industry. This includes staying updated on new suppliers, innovative products, and cost-saving opportunities. Cost Optimization: Driving cost optimization initiatives by analysing pricing structures, negotiating favourable terms, and implementing cost-saving measures. This involves conducting cost-benefit analyses, exploring alternative sourcing options, and optimizing inventory management. Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, and finance teams, to understand their procurement needs and align procurement strategies with project objectives. Sustainability and Ethical Practices: Promoting sustainable procurement practices, including responsible sourcing, supplier diversity, and adherence to environmental and social standards. You would ensure compliance with relevant certifications and work towards achieving renewable energy goals.
