Our client is looking for a candidate who will be responsible for managing the purchasing function to ensure timeous supply of quality sourced hardware for their Production Department. Job Description : Duties will include overseeing all procurement for project specific purchases, sourcing suppliers and negotiating price, payment and warranty terms, Responsibilities will also include all aspects of freight management including recording, payment and reporting on freight and related costs. Part of this portfolio includes ensuring the successful importation of the finished yacht through customs and SARS. This is a management position which will include the management of a team of local and technical buyers ensuring that all orders are tracked and monitored to ensure timeous delivery. Education and Experience Requirements : Ideally 5 years- of experience in purchasing at a managerial level preferably within the marine industry. Experience in Superyacht sector and practical sailing experience will be an advantage. Software Requirements : Working knowledge of MS Office package, Excel at an intermediate level. Proficiency in the Purchasing module of a recognised ERP systems is required (Preferably Business Centra or Navision). Characteristics : Methodical / systematic worker who is dependable and can work in a high pressure environment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Knowledge of boatbuilding processes is an advantage. Good Leadership, Interpersonal and Organisational skills. Ability to work well within a team is essential.
