Job Purpose This role will focus on managing the overall delivery of Textiles products. This aligns with our strategy to build capacity in the organisation to deliver on our Value based household mandate through products which drive value. Product development Initiate samples/development of products from new fabrics or make up styles. Product re-engineering where opportunities exist to ensure product and cost optimisation. Analyse customer wants and needs to ensure customer satisfaction in innovation and product quality. Assessing feasibility of new and redesigned products. To identify commercially viable product opportunities. Inspect new products/samples with Quality Assurance manager to ensure compliance with quality standards and established tolerance. Produce and maintain a master product schedule plan for all products in development. Responsible for sampling process; from concept to product approval by Quality Assurance and Production Manager. Production Management Produce detailed project plans which track textiles products from conception to product review. Oversee the development of a textile's products within the organisation, monitoring and reporting on projects progress Monitor the project schedule on new products to ensure they are delivered on time. Manage and oversee multiple development projects from initial concept to production. Ensure new product trials are done and documented. Ensuring that all product specifications and quality standards are adhered to. Update and approve product specifications. Sign off packaging for new product development purposes. Ensure customer sign-off on new products. Ensure all information is gathered from suppliers and trials for costings purposes. Weekly and monthly product status reports for relevant stakeholders. Delivery Management Oversee all aspects of execution of the development process while troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems which may delay product delivery. Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span across multiple lines of business. Assist sourcing with development of commercially viable new fabric ranges. Relationship management with customers, ensuring consistent communication regarding new product development initiatives, feedback, and follow-up. Liaise with Key Account Manager and customer regarding packaging requirements Manage the channels of engagement and communication between internal stakeholders involved in development and implementation of textiles products Knowledge Management Understanding of global and local textile trends and consumer behaviour. Visit international trade fairs to attend trend talks, liaise with suppliers and source newness. To clearly understand the wider trends in textile, lifestyle, technology, packaging design and technical developments in the textile industry through research, fairs/exhibitions, and comparative shopping. To remain up to date with the local market and competitor commercial information. Maintain sample room and new product development library. Requirements Tertiary in Business Management Qualification in Clothing and Textile Industry would be preferable 5 – 10 years' experience in product development in Textiles or Apparel Industry Project management qualification Proven experience in delivery of large/strategic projects Strong experience presenting to executive Knowledge of Textiles operation is advantageous Fully Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) Enthusiasm, self-motivator and creative about development Attention to Detail Strong organisational skills Analytical skills Strategic and Forward thinker Strong Interpersonal skills Building strong relationships with necessary stakeholders R32 000 Apply Now
