Evaluate operational workflows and procedures to improve job processes on an ongoing basis. Ensures optimisation of resources with respect to current workloads to eliminate idle time. Ensure maintenance and optimal usage of resources and recommend additions or replacement of resources. Monitor and ensure that all resources conform to guidelines. Ensures fast and timeous delivery of products to Powder Coating according to schedule whilst ensuring that no product misses a colour run, in conjunction with the Powder Coating Supervisor. Ensure optimisation of machinery to maximize capacity utilisation Manage and ensure effective and efficient maintenance of production processes Reports production statistics, productivity etc. to the Foreman on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Conduct root-cause-analysis of scrap per attribute to minimise cost of quality Ensure that areas under supervision comply with OSH Act and 5S guidelines. Ensure that staff are trained, skilled and that their expertise are optimally applied. Ensure that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increase productivity. Optimize resources to control and reduce costs. Inspect facility and equipment to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, type of equipment required, and production staff required. Responsible for planning of the day-to-day operations Coordinating with other departments, such as, Planning, Payroll, IR, Sales, Maintenance and Purchasing, to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals. Maintain & set production objectives and KPIs. Ensure that production score sheets are filled hourly. Deal efficiently with IR issues such as discipline of staff, conflict management, time management, etc. Conduct return-to-work interviews with subordinates who have been off-sick and facilitate their reintegration into the workplace Matric; plus NQF level 5 3 years' supervisory experience in the metal industry in a unionized environment; Understanding of aluminium and steel fabrication processes is essential and working experience in an aluminium fabrication factory would be advantageous. Technically minded Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organization; Structured and detail oriented with the ability to follow tasks through to completion; Strong leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and make decisions Self-starter who can work unsupervised and manage own time and activities.
