LOCATION: RUSTENBURG, NW The Owners Team Project Planner oversees the planning and tracking of specific short- and long-term projects which have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. Key Responsibilities: • Plan the Project: -Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the project manager and project team. -Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project. -Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project. -Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities. -Review the project schedule with the project manager and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required. -Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated by throughout its lifecycle. -Clearly indicate critical path and float on project schedule. -Utilise central MS Projects online integration software •Implement the Project: -Execute the project according to the project plan. -Develop forms and records to document project activities. -Compile forecast reports. -Identify and Track project variations and trends. -Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project. -Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project. •Control the Project: -Write reports on the project for management and the project stakeholders. -Communicate with stakeholders as outlined in the stakeholder management plan. -Manage all project planning activities according to established accounting policies and procedures. -Ensure that all planning and progress records for the project are up to date. -Prepare procurement reports and supporting documentation for stakeholders as outlined in stakeholder management plan. -Assist with change control within the project during its lifecycle. •Evaluate the Project: -Ensure that the project deliverables are on time. -Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase. •Physical Requirement: -Certificate of fitness • SHE Requirement -Site Specific Induction • Additional Requirements: -Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. -Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet project deadlines. Experience Knowledge & Skils : -Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a significant portion in industrial or heavy construction projects. Experience in smelter rebuilds and shut-downs is highly desirable. -Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and regulations. -Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. -Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics. -Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Qualifications: -Grade 12 -University degree/diploma (construction management preferred). -Professional certifications (e.g., CCM) are advantageous.
