MAIN PURPOSE: Inspect and report on all quality matters to determine compliance with specifications, building codes, and other statutory regulations. Inspections, control and reporting on quality are related to materials and workmanship, and/or any matters Ensure that all defects of completed projects are coordinated and rectified, by the appointed subcontractors. Coordinate the QA/QC system and make sure the sites are compliant. Assist in creating a culture of quality assurance. QUALITY CONTROL: Perform quality inspections, by using survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment, such as concrete strength measurers. Coordinate the QC sheet system and make sure the sites are compliant. Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment and elevation of structures and fixtures to ensure compliance to building plans and codes. Issue violation notices and stop-work orders, conferring with owners, violators and authorities to explain regulations and recommend rectifications. Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. Inspect, test or measure materials, products, installations and work for conformance to specifications. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions. Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades or moisture content and quantities inspected or graded. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges or micrometers. Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes and specifications. REPORTING Maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs. Documenting/ Recording Information – Entering, transcribing, recording, storing or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. Getting Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers or Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in person. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships – Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. Making Decisions and Solving problems – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT : Identifying areas for improvement in quality control processes and implementing changes. Promoting a culture of quality within the construction team.
