SAIPA Accountant - Somerset West
Our client based in Somerset West, is looking for a qualified SAIPA Accountant to join their team an ambitious SAIPA registered accountant who has completed their articles at a professional services firm. Experience post-articles at a professional service firm will be an advantage but is not essential.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
Requirements and skills

· Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office and work experience with relevant computer software, Xero, Drafworx, Sage Online (will be advantageous), Dext and Hubdoc
· Qualifications (SAIPA Registered accountant)
· BSc/BCom in accounting, finance or relevant field
Responsibilities
· Bookkeeping (Reconciling all transactions in Xero, passing all required manual journals in Xero, maintaining the Fixed Asset Register in Xero, reviewing the balance sheet and profit or loss, using Receipt Bank to capture supplier bills and push them through to Xero, creating a monthly management pack to send to the client)
· Annual Financial Statements (preparing AFS in Draftworx)
· Payroll reconciliations from the payroll system to the Xero
· VAT (submitting VAT201s)
· Income Tax (submitting Income Tax and Provisional Tax returns for companies and their directors)
· Ad hoc client requests
· Creditor recons, debtor recons, payroll recons, fixed asset register recons, balance sheet recons, all other recons to make sure the client accounts are up to date and relevant.
· Tax advice to clients with regards to the tax effects of basics and more advanced transactions that they encounter (Income Tax, Payroll Taxes, VAT, Dividend Taxes etc.)
Other requirements:
South African citizen
Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
Own transport with Valid South African drivers' license (preferred)
