Sales Assistant (Open to Expat) - Johannesburg

Our client is seeking a Sales Assistant who will be positioned in our client's front office interacting with a wide range of clients. We are looking for a person with strong administration and people skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Connect with walk in or phone-in customers, able to converse with them successfully to identify and understand their needs.

  • Raise manual, hand-written invoices correctly.

  • UseMS Excel to generate quotes, check invoice values and so on. A good knowledge of basic Excel functions is important.

  • Manage client orders with a manual order filing system.

  • Communicate in person, by email & by phone including answering switchboard telephone lines.

  • Maintain good relationships especially with existing high value customers.

  • Cross training. Being a small team, we all cross-train so this person will be expected to be versatile, flexible, learning different roles quickly, part of a dynamic team.

Skills:

  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Strong peoples person with good demeanor and friendly, confident approach.
  • Good diction: well spoken, clear & coherent.
  • Presentable and able to interact with decision makers.
  • A proven track record of honesty and integrity.
  • Good team player, able to work in a busy, fast-moving environment with other colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Good mathematics, calculation skills with calculator, able to add, multiply and subtract figures accurately and quickly.

  • Full Drivers license.
