Senior Business Analyst - (CONTRACT) - Cape Town Region

Description Responsibilities: Recognize the Business Needs The Business Analyst is required to facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand their requirements and their vision of the product. These requirements are then to be translated into business needs and communicated to the team members to make them understand the expectations of the initiative and/or requirements. Analyse the Business Domain The Business Analyst is required to analyse the various systems and processes in detail - from the first iteration to the release phase. The Business Analyst is required work closely with the development team to understand the initial requirement of the initiative, the scope of the initiative, and also identify automation areas of the initiative. Refine the backlog The Business Analyst is required to assist the Portfolio Analyst / Product Owner establish user stories from the requirement models created during the analysis cycle. Helps Initiative and Delivery Teams to Understand the Big Picture The Business Analyst is required to help teams to get a better grasp of the initiative and where it fits within the organizational strategy. This is to be done by facilitating a number of discussions such as: Identify which business processes should be created, eliminated, or revised. Identify which stakeholders are to be involved. Identify what information should be tracked. Identify what policies and rules should be followed that affect business behaviour and decisions. In addition, the Business Analyst is required to: Ensure that the department executes on all requirements, timeously and within SLAs. Ensure that the necessary due diligence, reporting and risk reviews take place as and when required. Review as-is processes and facilitate the high-level impact assessment of the change with Department's Delivery Partners. Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; Writing Specifications / Features / User Stories. Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Review a variety of areas including operations, purchasing, inventory, distribution and facilities. Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes. Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues. Requirements: Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive. Ability to work independently and with others. Extremely organized with strong time-management skills. Experience and training in Agile Ways of Work including Agile Release Train ways of working and knowledge.
