Senior Electrician/Teamleader - Port Elizabeth

Basic Requirements:

  • Formal Tertiary education:
    • Grade 12
    • Qualified Electrical Artisan
  • Languages:
    • English Read, write and speak (required)
    • Afrikaans Read, write and speak (optional)
    • Xhosa (advantageous)
  • Drivers Licence: Code 8- (required)

Experience:

  • 5 years + years post qualification experience within an Automation electrical assembly environment
  • Comprehensive experience with field wiring of automation facilities, fault finding, panel building and pneumatics
  • Comprehensive experience with electrical assembly hand tools, trunking assembly, trunking layout, labelling
  • Leadership experience essential. Supervising/Managing a team.

Job Objectives:

  • Using electrical designs to wire and test panels and facility to functional completion
  • Support electrical assembly requirements to completion

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.
  • Comprehensively read, understand and transform electrical designs into assembled functional panels, exercising and applying electrical knowledge and wiring practices to accommodate, optimum wire requirements, routing, digital and analogue signals, noise, communication cables, AC/DC power, earthing, etc.
  • Correctly identifying components for the purpose of the assembly application
  • Work together with Mechanical and Control System Engineers to achieve facilities functional requirements
  • Liaise confidently and constructively with specialist consultants e.g. Design Consultants/Suppliers
  • Provide detailed design change/correction feedback during and on completion of testing facility.
  • Install facilities on site if and when required
  • Acknowledge and accommodate the requirements to have to work additional hours to achieve project milestones
  • Fault finding skills on identify assembly and functional areas on machines.
  • Problem solving skills via root cause analysis
  • To operate within the safety regulations of the company/OSH ac
  • To comply with ISO procedures
  • Good house keeping
  • To lead and guide a team of electrical artisans on, ensuring quality of work on time
  • Ensure the facility/machine achieve the functional requirement
