We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Surface & Underground Mining to join the team. Be an advisor to the management team for all underground and surface development projects. Assist with business development for all mining opportunities. Assist with business development for the commercial tunnelling industry. Contribute to the definition of Reutech Mining's underground strategy. Liaise with the Department of Mineral Resources with all aspects of mine safety. Assist with the start-up of the Geotechnical Monitoring Centre. Ensure customer and other stakeholder satisfaction. Identify and analyse industry trends to align and position the company appropriately An honours degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, Engineering Geology or Mining Engineering, or a geotechnical related degree. A Master's degree in the aforementioned subjects will be advantageous. Certification for either Strata Control or Rock Mechanics would also be (SANIRE/COMRE, qualified and examined through UNISA) Advantageous. Up-to-date Career Professional Development (CPD) points. If not registered, needs to be eligible for registration. Professional registrations with societies such as SANIRE, SAIEG, GSSA, SAIMM etc. Strong business aptitude. Management experience in underground and surface business projects. Minimum 10 years of experience in both South African mines as well as the international mining industry. In-depth knowledge of the geotechnical and mining environments, pit slope and underground monitoring, geotechnical gap analysis, risk and hazard assessment and mitigation. Requires minimum supervision. Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
