FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOOL OF HEALTH CARE SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF NURSING SCIENCES LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER The incumbent will be responsible for: Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students; Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students; Participating in skills training and assessment; Updating course content and revising study guides; Maintaining the electronic learning environment; Performing other academic and research duties as may be delegated by the Head ofDepartment; Conducting research at a national and international competitive level; Participating in the Department, School of Healthcare Sciences and Faculty strategicinitiatives relating to teaching, learning and community engagement. CLOSING DATE: 05 August 2024 No application will be considered after the closing date, or if it does not comply with at least the minimum requirements. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR LECTURER A Master's degree in Nursing Science; Qualification in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education; Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC); At least 1 DHET accredited publication; MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR LECTURER: A Master's degree in Nursing Science; Qualification in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education; Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC); Minimum 3 accredited publications (preferably be published in the last three years and in ISIjournals); At least 2 Master's supervised; 3 years teaching experience; Conference papers delivered. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES): Good verbal and written communication skills; Good interpersonal and mentoring skills; Good computer skills; Scientific writing skills. ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES FOR LECTURER: Experience in a clinical environment; PhD in Nursing Science; A valid driver's licence; At least one year teaching experience at a Higher Education Institution; Track record of supervising postgraduate students. ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES FOR SENIOR LECTURER: Experience in a clinical environment; PhD in Nursing Science; A valid driver's licence; Accredited publications must preferably be published in the last 3 years and in ISI journals; Track record of supervising postgraduate students; Community engagement recommended. The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, asdetermined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aidschemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
