We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Procurement Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the public sector and will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Procurement Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the organization's needs. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying needs to contract management. Vendor Relations: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with public sector regulations and organizational policies. Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of procurement activities. Financial Oversight: Develop and manage procurement budgets. Analyze and report on procurement costs and savings. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance. Provide training and support to staff on procurement processes and best practices. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and developments. Utilize market insights to make informed procurement decisions. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. National Treasury Regulations experience A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement in the public sector. Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred. Strong knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and best practices. Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
