JOB DESCRIPTION Key Responsibilities: Social and Ethical Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive social and ethical compliance programs and risk management strategies for various sourcing regions Manage audit and assessment programmes to identify and mitigate compliance risks Ensure all operations adhere to local, national, and international regulations and standards Oversee the management of all corrective action plans Prepare detailed reports on compliance status and present findings to senior management Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote ethical practices and corporate social responsibility initiatives Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards related to social and ethical compliance. Continuously evaluate and improve compliance programs to enhance effectiveness and efficiency Quality Compliance: Oversee the development and implementation of quality control strategies and procedures Ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations Analyse quality control data and implement continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence Leadership and Collaboration: Provide strategic direction and leadership, guidance, training, and performance evaluations to the compliance and quality control teams Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence within the organization Act as a liaison between senior management and compliance/quality control teams, ensuring alignment with corporate goals Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory bodies Establish and maintain contracts with Service Providers to ensure TFG Compliance and QC procedures and protocols remain relevant and are upheld Develop and provide relevant reports for senior management and external stakeholders. Requirements: Completed tertiary qualification in Quality and or Compliance Management (consumer goods manufacturing eg : clothing, footwear, homeware) or a related field Minimum of 10 years of experience in social and ethical compliance and/or quality control, with at least 3 years in a managerial role In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international compliance standards and regulations Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance and quality control programs Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels Certification in compliance and/or quality management is a plus Competencies and behaviours for success: Plans and Aligns - develops plans and prioritises initiatives that align to the organisational goals and objectives Strategic Mindset - thinks and plans strategically, focusing on the long-term goals and objectives of the organisation Balances Stakeholders - effectively considers the diverse needs of various stakeholders Communicates Effectively - conveys information and communicates ideas in a clear, concise and impactful manner Ensures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targets Financial Acumen - understands and applies financial concepts and principles to make informed financial decisions Drives Vision and Purpose - communicates a clear and inspiring purpose and vision that engages people Manages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problems Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
