Our client is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Management (SCM) Specialist who will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations and strategy. This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, procurement, logistics, inventory control, and continuous process improvement strategies to support business objectives. Including analysing supply chain operations, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing best practices to improve performance. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that drive operational excellence. The Senior SCM Specialist will ensure the efficient flow of goods, information, and finances, aiming to enhance supply chain performance, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their supply chain challenges, goals, and objectives. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' current supply chain operations and performance metrics. Analysis and Strategy Development: Perform detailed analyses of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. Develop strategic recommendations and roadmaps to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with client teams, including senior management, operations, and IT departments. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build client capability and ensure effective adoption of new practices. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management. Propose innovative solutions to address evolving client needs and industry challenges. Supply Chain Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives. Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to meet market requirements. Lead cross-functional teams to align supply chain strategies with overall company goals. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favourable agreements. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers. Procurement and Sourcing: Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing. Manage sourcing activities to identify new suppliers and alternative materials. Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives as needed. Logistics and Distribution: Oversee the transportation and storage of goods to ensure timely delivery. Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize distribution networks. Manage warehouse operations and ensure efficient inventory management. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions. Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential supply chain issues. Monitor global market trends and their potential impact on the supply chain. Data Analysis and Reporting: Use data analytics to monitor supply chain performance and identify improvement opportunities. Generate reports and provide insights to senior management on supply chain metrics. Utilize advanced analytical tools and software for data-driven decision-making. Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards. Integrate sustainable practices into supply chain operations to reduce environmental impact. Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications: MCIPS highly advantageous, CPS advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field. 4 years experience in Supply Chain Consulting and Advisory, would be advantageous. Proven track record of leading and optimizing supply chain operations in a senior role. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems. Advanced knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
