Job Responsibilities: – Inspect, maintain, and repair shafts and winding equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules – Monitor the performance of shafts and winders, identify any issues or defects, and take corrective actions as needed – Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and replacements on shaft and winder components – Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to diagnose and resolve technical problems – Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices while working on shafts and winding equipment – Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as needed Requirements: – Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar mechanical discipline – Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Fitter in a mining environment, with specific experience in shaft and winder maintenance – Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in mining shafts and winders – Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team – Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – Willingness to work in a remote location and adhere to rotational shift schedules The post Shaft Assistant appeared first on freerecruit.co.za .
