Team Lead System Analysis - Johannesburg

PURPOSE
The primary objective of this role is to manage a team of Systems Analysts within the Mature products department and have a good understanding of organisation's business systems. All Analysis work to be channeled through this role for quality assurance and standards validity. Integrate between the Bank Security Analyst to guarantee future and current developments are inclusive of security features required for product and Bank’s security compliance. Integrate with product/application architects to improve Bank products to be in line with the Bank’s business and IT strategy. Play an integral role between Business analysts, business, and development teams. Amongst other roles is to champion analysis of business requirements/specifications and prepare functional and technical specifications which will be utilised by programmers to develop and maintain systems. This must be done in support of Bank’s business and product strategies, according to Bank’s standards and methodologies.

You will engage with the following stakeholders:
External:

  • Bank Representatives
  • Users of Bank’s Products

Internal:

  • Bank’s Entities and Departments
  • Operations business

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure team goals are aligned to BU strategy, documented, clearly understood and regularly reviewed
  • Conducts mapping sessions with business units to facilitate process enhancement and change in terms of business strategies.
  • Deploy client or company specific projects in line with company standards and in agreement with line manager
  • Analyse user's Business Requirements in detail and, where appropriate, compile and document functional specification for a proposed new or changed system.
  • Compile and document system design
  • Modelling of business/product process analysis, engineering and re-engineering, with an understanding of business and technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environments
  • Facilitates quality improvement interventions and makes recommendations by assisting and guiding prospective stakeholders of proposed new or changes system in qualifying the benefits of having such solution (or the penalties of not having it) and assessing the impact of the system in their business
  • Assist the sponsoring users in analysing costs, benefits, risks and return of investment of the proposed new system, understanding the exact nature of the proposed system; deciding whether to proceed with the implementation
  • May be required to design and develop user manuals and corresponding training programs for a system being developed
  • Assist the business analysts, developers and team leaders in resolving design issues.
  • Assisting the project manager by managing client expectations through careful and proactive regarding requirement and changes
  • Would own the Project Management accountability for small scale projects as and when required

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma or equivalent
  • Ms Office Suite

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 6 to 8 years related experience
  • Requirements Gathering and Techniques (Non-negotiable)
  • Business Process Modelling (Non-Negotiable)
  • Systems Development Methodologies (Non-Negotiable)
  • Analysis and Design Methodologies such as SADM (Non-Negotiable)
  • Document Writing Skills (Non-Negotiable)
  • Logical Data Modelling (Non-Negotiable)
  • Designing and compilation of Used Cases (Non-Negotiable)
