Good knowledge of Windows operating systems; Basic knowledge in Server technology and in virtual servers in order to design and install a complete Control Centre Excellent knowledge in Leica GNSS hardware and Software To actively contribute to driving the Monitoring business forward for the Leica Geosystems direct sales team by contributing ideas and experiences at all times. To continually make sure that all Monitoring support is managed in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Whilst also guaranteeing that a continuous revenue stream for monitoring support is achieved. (Targets to be calculated) To understand self-development and seek guidance from the Monitoring Segment Manager as appropriate. To work with the company performance management policy of self-appraisal and regular review meetings with the Monitoring Segment. Key TASKS : Provide both on and off-site technical support and consultancy to prospective and existing Monitoring customers. Be competent with all aspects of Leica Monitoring Solution's portfolio including TM60, MS60, GNSS Spider and GeoMoS products and be familiar with alternative solutions from third party suppliers and how to, if deemed necessary to integrate them into our systems. Assist Monitoring and Control Segment Manager in improving the Monitoring market segment knowledge of the regional sales managers and assist in demonstrations and/or evaluations. Provide practical usage Monitoring workshops and maintain a complete operational demonstration area at the new office in Midrand. Be able to understand and assess the Strengths and weaknesses of the current and future available Monitoring solutions on the market. Be confident and competent enough to sell our solutions utilising the Features/benefits/Value Sales technique. Communicate daily with the Monitoring Segment Manager to discuss and update on all sales and support issues and activities of the segment. Ensure that all activity and quotations are input into SFDC and the OQT Provide weekly reports on current status using SFDC Liaise with existing support engineers including IT to overcome all related issues. Utilise SFDC support tool to provide continuity of and archiving of support cases. Be responsible for selling our services, Training, consultancy installation support to all monitoring related activity. May also be deployed in other sub-regions as deemed appropriate by Regional Director Promote the use of Leica Geosystems Monitoring Solutions via social media, exhibitions and case studies with Marketing for the use of reference and promotion. Approximately 50%-70% travelling time. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Good analytical skills to diagnose problems quickly and excellent customer service skills. • Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to varying levels of technical competency in clients and the pressures clients may be under while working with malfunctioning equipment. • Familiar with a customer-orientated environment. • Knowledge of general network infrastructure and configuration. • Ability to liaise with customers in an empathic and technically effective manner. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide advice to non-technically aware customers. Education and Experience Required: • N6 qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field, working in open pit mines or similar environments. • Ability to gain knowledge and work with various monitoring technologies • Experience working with batteries and electronics • Familiarity with current IT and industry-specific trends • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and experience on new technologies to use the knowledge to provide customer support and training • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate product information and technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience • Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is required • Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, and accountability • Understands the product development and management lifecycle • Ability to work well within a team as well as on their own. • Slope monitoring experience in open pit mines, would be an added advantage Travel: • Flexible as the successful candidate would be required to sometimes work on weekends, and travel frequently to different sites in Africa.
