We are looking for a retail sales assistant to work alongside the store manager and collaborate with the 7 other Vetshop staff members. Bringing an infectious, positive attitude to the working environment and enjoying what they do on a day-to-day basis. Compassionately educating our clients through our extensive product knowledge and upskilling culture. Having opening and closing responsibilities as well as stock management and admin-related tasks. Most importantly, we strive to provide our clients with an unforgettable and long-lasting impression to build that vital relationship. Vetshop Sales Assistant Duties Financial Count the float and blikkie daily, fix if you know what the problem is and inform your manager Check daily sales GP% to make sure pricing is correct Process petty cash payments on Omni Admin Reply and send emails Enter invoices on Omni / update price changes and inform your manager of any changes Price stock items Daily invoice filing Complete GD DVS Upload supplier invoices on GD Upload reports on GD (month end) Complete your overtime and leave sheet by the 14th (Apply for leave on Labournet) Backup data on USB and GD Inventory Reorder Stock daily (Lakato/RC/Cube/MCP) Upsell with every sale Receive stock from suppliers Check for damaged bags & send back with driver Check for damaged bags & send back with driver Pack away stock Check levels on Omni of stock packed away Fill shelves when items are sold Check slow movers email list to shops monthly. Please discuss with manager Do stock take - monthly and daily Check expiry dates on all stock and report short dated stock(6months close to exp) to manager Do spot checks of stock when stock received Cleaning Mop & Sweep floors - Make sure shop is neat Neaten Shelves Keep store room clean and tidy Meetings Join zoom meetings Daily huddle meeting with staff member weekly General Implementing Vetshop manual DVS checks through out the month Follow cash up procedure Clients Assisting clients and making sales Answering phone and whatsapp's to assist clients (on work phones) Source items for client orders with fast turnaround time Update clients regarding the progress of their orders n less than twice a week Marketing Attend marketing meeting monthly via zoom Skills and attributes: Must love animals and want to learn more in this field. Above-average understanding of Excel, Google Drive, and Outlook will be advantageous. Excellent customer service. Honesty and transparency. Ability to work in a team environment.
