We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant (YES Programme) to join our dynamic team on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract, based at the following locations - Johannesburg Cape Town Durban Port Elizabeth The primary role of the Warehouse Assistant includes the receiving and processing of incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders and managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Maintain accurate picking of orders, ensuring all orders have been picked correctly as per the pick slip and picking process. Sign the picking slip as a confirmation that the order is complete. Ensure that the correct expiry date stock has been picked and strict adherence to FIFO principals Assist with daily and monthly stock counts. Assist with warehouse activities such as binning: ensuring expiry dates are not mixed in one location, all stock is allocated to the correct storage location as per the warehouse layout and adhere to safe stacking principals. Report all warehouse breakages or damages to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager. Maintain housekeeping inside and outside the warehouse. Being responsible for the general duties around the warehouse and any assigned areas of responsibility. General understanding of the store's operation. Load goods onto the delivery or collection vehicles, to all customers. This includes per-loading to ensure earlier departure times for vehicles. You will also be required to assist in loading and unloading inbound vehicles. Ensuring goods are loaded correctly and adhering to safety regulations. Load the inter branch transfer goods onto the relevant trucks. Maintain forklift inspections. Move stock into the warehouse after the Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager verified and accepted the quantities and qualities received. Receiving, verification and capturing of documentation in respect of stock transfers in and out of these stores. Matric and/or relevant certificate in warehousing. 0 - 1 year warehouse experience. Available and willing to work a fixed term 12-month contract. Should not have been employed permanently with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year. Should not be studying full time in the year of employment. Should not have participated or been registered on the YES programme before. Stipend
