Description Introduction We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant (YES Programme) to join our enthusiastic team on a full-time contract. The positions are available in the following locations: Johannesburg Cape Town Durban Port Elizabeth Bloemfontein Roodeport Welkom Clayville Primary Responsibilities The initial tasks of the Warehouse Assistant involve managing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packaging and shipping items, and organizing warehouse stock. Accurately pick orders, ensuring all items are correctly chosen as per the provided picking slip and process. Confirm completion of the order by signing the picking slip. Select stock with the correct expiry date, adhering strictly to FIFO guidelines. Participate in daily and monthly inventory counts. Engage in warehouse activities such as binning to ensure all stock is correctly allocated and stored according to the warehouse layout, and follow safe stacking principles. Report any breakages or damages in the warehouse to the Supervisor/Manager. Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the warehouse. Handle general duties around the warehouse as assigned. Understand the overall operation of the store. Load goods onto delivery or collection vehicles for customers, including pre-loading to facilitate earlier departure times. Assist in the loading and unloading of inbound vehicles, ensuring that goods are properly loaded in compliance with safety regulations. Transfer goods between branches onto the relevant trucks. Conduct forklift inspections to ensure safety and functionality. Move stock into the warehouse after verification by the Supervisor/Manager of the quantities and qualities received. Receive, verify, and capture documentation related to stock transfers in and out of the warehouse. Desired Experience & Qualifications High school diploma (Matric) or a relevant certificate in warehousing. 0 – 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment. Available and willing to work full-time. Must not have been continuously employed with a single employer for more than one year. Must not be a full-time student during the year of employment.
