We are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for coordinating all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning and final buy-off phases as well as ensuring the project remained within budget in order to meet the requirements of the customer's needs. Responsible for multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative original solutions where results are key to successful completion of major projects. Responsible for coordinating all project elements, including engineering design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and final buy off phases. Plan project requirements and resources including sourcing subcontract elements. Perform factory acceptance test and site acceptance tests on all new equipment. Lead external engineers and technicians during project execution. Responsible for installation and commissioning of equipment within the given time frame and budget. Accurately cost any changes in the specification of a project. Ensure change requests are managed correctly with clear explanation for these requests. Manage and execute major upgrades of equipment. Define the technical specification and tender documents for major projects. Attend internal and external customer meetings when required. Minimum tertiary education: Mechanical Engineering Degree. 5 years experience in engineering project execution and management. Hands on Experience in mechanical installation of equipment. Experience in using MS Projects, MS Excel & MS Word. Experience in editing & modifying the drawings using AutoCAD. Reading & Understanding of Pneumatic, Hydralic, Civil & Mechanical drawings. Knowledge of offloading, rigging, levelling and alignment of the equipment. Experience in working as an installation and commissioning engineer in the manufacturing industry. Experience in Tyre industry will be an added advantage. Competencies: Strategic Agility – Crafting a direction from Strategy. Organising & Executing, Problem Solving & Result focused.
