Introduction: Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for data architecture? Our client is looking for a BI Data Architect responsible for aligning the BI architecture with business strategy by analyzing, defining, and designing the data architecture to meet the organization's information needs. Minimum Requirements: Education: Relevant 3-year tertiary or NQF aligned qualification. Experience: Up to 8 years in IT, with a minimum of 5 years in a BI technical role and 3 years in a BI architecture role. Proven track record of delivering BI technical solutions. Experience with Data Warehousing and BI best practices. Additional Criteria: In-depth knowledge of Data Warehousing and BI best practices. Experience in dimensional modeling, source systems analysis, and data architecture designs. Change-oriented with a creative approach to challenges. Disciplined in applying BI standards, yet open to suggestions and change. Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. Self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Supports team development through knowledge sharing and upskilling. Maintains advanced knowledge of business operations and industry trends. Evaluates solutions for commercial and technological feasibility. Leverages research on technology trends to guide IT roadmap decisions. Sets technical policies to support IT stability and success. Anticipates and overcomes obstacles with proactive problem-solving. Builds effective relationships and fosters collaborative partnerships. Communicates effectively with diverse audiences and adapts messaging accordingly. Continually seeks to adapt and improve through change. Job Description: Define End-to-End Data Design for BI Solutions: Ensure cohesive integration of all components of the BI solution. Collaborate closely with Data Integration and Information Delivery developers. Develop and Define Data Standards: Establish and communicate data standards across the organization. Champion and govern these standards to ensure business benefits. Develop and Define Metadata Management: Design and maintain metadata repositories to facilitate data asset understanding. Create Optimal Data Design: Translate business problems into data designs. Align user needs with organizational objectives and system requirements. Develop and Define Data Governance: Ensure compliance and integrity of data solutions. Oversee Data Governance, including data quality and reliability. Build and Maintain Relationships: Form effective partnerships with Business, Enterprise Architecture, and IT teams. Provide specialist knowledge of Data Architecture to the Enterprise Architecture team. Lead and Drive Research and Development: Guide the BI team in technology decisions and technical/data roadmap development. Continuously improve Data Architecture methodology through industry trends and best practices. Ensure Team Effectiveness: Build a sustainable team capability. Set aligned goals to ensure quality work. Annually
